Tale of a Raven

Tale of a Raven

A Poem by WatcherInSilence
"

Dreamers of the night watch their dreams dissolve like fading illusions

"

A raven’s wing

Perched on a tree

Grew silently in the night

As darkness fell

The raven screamed

Echoes of a fallen knight

A jaded knife

In its back

Bled silent rivers of tears

The raven sang

To its delight

Sounds of stricken fear

And as the moonlight

Graced the lands

Washing away the dark

The raven sat

On its perch

A torn wing hanging from a branch

The eagles flew

In distant circles

Crying silence in a crowded night

The wind blew harder

And the raven slumbered

Its feathers finally reached the ground

The branch shook off

A fainted raven

Resting peacefully in nature’s arms

The night had captured

Another soul

Of a defeated raven

Whose sole desire

Was to make it through the night
