The Truth

Words shall set us free

Empty words and loneliness

This life had taken its toll

Hybrid heart that knows no reason

Split in half; emotions bleeding

Led by a sinister light

Thoughts vanish, melodies erupt

Until written symphonies sing

Heavenly songs at skies’ delight

Broken souls and broken pieces

Once shattered, reunite again

Under a guiding light

Of open words and open pages

The soul released breathes new life

And is reborn in the skies

Its feathered wings flap gusts of fury

And wash away dusted mountains

Incessant roars of raging seas

Breed chaos and destruction

Helpless masses left out stranded

Chanting savior save your people

Foolish minds breed expectations

And build up temples of ambition

Flaming ashes of truth erupt

Lock away the glory days of old

There lies the silent messenger

Watching as darkness takes hold

His glaring eyes are but a flicker

In the depth of the abyss

His world perishes, a tale ends

As he scribbles words into carved stone

‘The truth shall manifest itself

Into words, and set its people free’

You got to the heart of things with this one...reached in a really wrote the truth in such a way as to connect it to each and every one of us in some way. The last stanza was truly a great way to bring things together..."His world perishes, a tale ends" -- and so it does.
