I still write....

I lost my biggest fan

Writing for someone who will never read it

Their eyes never grazing across the words

Their hearts never feeling the real emotion of it

I still write for you, I still want to read it to you

I know you loved when I read them to you

I know you were always so proud of my writing

You loved knowing I got that talent from you

I never imagined a world without you

I don't think my young adult mind even thought of it

I thought you would live forever

I never imagined I would be trying to express it

I never thought places we once loved going would crush my heart when I passed them

I never thought certain movies would bring tears

I never thought I would be hugging your pillow instead of you

I never imagined having to explain to my daughter who you were and how much you loved her

I never thought I would never get to talk to you again

I never imagined I would never get to hear your wonderful advice again

I never thought you would be the feeling I was writing about
