Iblease' Condolences

Iblease' Condolences

A Chapter by YouoweYoupay
"

That night, Iblease came to me...

"

Your tongue would move

tear the bits of me.

And that day came when

Your words tore through

The freshly stitched

Piece of ignorance.

They cut into the wounds

Still throbbing. Still raw

And in a mirror I saw

My shrieking reflection.

I looked horrible.

I was departing

Just a half of me though

Not the whole of me.

I could still breathe.
Couldn't I?
Walk and talk with ease
In those mourning rags.

And that night he appeared.
His features oddly smeared
His figure proved hunger
to seal new trades
with those enslaved by anger.

Iblease came to me.

Souls pray for shield
Upon hearing the name
And he would ache. burn. Surrender.

I prayed not
Staring up from my corner
at the shadow
above which he floated.

It was understood
I wanted no fight.

Iblease slithered
A few distance left
Between us and
In his palm
Unfolded my hand

In it he dropped a seed
"My deepest condolences."
and he was gone
but his voice went on.

Iblease gave me a seed.
"Plant it wherever you please.
Then let it grow.
Let it be..."

I caught a glimpse
Of a young soul
So eager to fly
And easy to fall.

I gave it false hopes
Something cheap to feed
Then I used that soul
Merged it with his seed
And all that sweat
I gathered
to keep the soil wet.

Iblease gave me a seed.
A gift, he claimed
Not out of greed.
I placed it where I pleased

And in two years or three
There it was...

A tree.

All wrinkled, with shaken roots
Branches coated in thorns.
Its trunk bent, with no pride
No leaves. No fruit.
silent. Betrayed. Half dead
Chocking on soot.

Iblease came to me.

He gave me a seed.
The condolences
He thought I'd need.

I loved this peice so much! It might've been just me but I felt a little humour in this for some reason, especially towards the end. And is it "Choking" not chocking? Creative and great use of words! Thnx for sharing by the way!

Hmmmm, it was very interesting and profound in a depressing evil sort of way. It was the evility, really, that was a major tone of the poem, that made the poem stand out. Your vocabulary was incredible. Nice job.

Excellent work, wisdom and power in the words.
Sometimes we do not know what we need; particularly in grief.

The poem was very good. I had to read a few times. You create a wild vision with your words. I like the name for the Devil. "Iblease". I like the ending. Your mind and skills for writing are amazing. Always a pleasure to read your poetry.
