Song of Spring

Song of Spring

A Poem by Amortentia03

Have I ever mentioned that I can see your wings?

Like that spot on your back you can’t scratch, you can’t see them

But I can hear that even this caged bird

Has found her voice and sings.

Your call sounds sweet and lilting, sending

Eyes and hearts and wings aflutter.

On a shining spring day, things really are born anew

That, in the dark, have a threat of ending.

Please, don’t let the music stop, we’re flying to the rhythm

That joins us and makes us whole.

And together we make sure, all that came before the dawn

Is healed and safe. Forgiven

For both losing song and providing silence in their time.

But now, the bird puts forth her tune

And the light rises to accept it,

Holding it close, in a kind of union that can only be divine.

Even a caged bird sings and I feel the healing birth of spring in your words and love the lines,
"On a shining spring day, things really are born anew
That, in the dark, have a threat of ending."
What a beautiful poem!
