Drowning

Drowning

A Poem by Michaela Maloney
"

very emotional and based on thought of suicide.

"

My eyes are open

they are open to the world

what I see is never pleasant

but I keep on seeing

My heart has broken

and lost all of its love

but there is no one to love

A night of love

a night to cherish

ruined

But ruined by what

ruined by my own doing

I could have saved you

but I let you slip

I watched you die

I watched your breath leave your body

I watched you cry your last tear

I could have answered your cry

but how can one save oneself

if you are the one that is drowning
