The Rose

The Rose

A Poem by Michaela Maloney
"

Clearly has no ovious meaning but if you must know it is about a man killing a woman.

"

A rose grows from his hand

I press it against my chest and it disappears

A tear falls from my eye

as my heart falls out of my chest

because a gun grew out of his other hand

It isn't strictly Nonsense, but I love the imagery - almost like a stop motion animation. I love the motion: from hand, to heart, to other hand

This totally happened in the town where I used to live! For real! The husband came to the place where the wife worked with a bouquet of roses! And then pulled a gun from them and killed her right there! Swear it! Great expression in your words!
