Hidden

I think it's time she's free.

There’s a face of brilliance

                Inside me

Someone I’ve seen in the

                                Mirror

Most days, she feels

         Too far gone

I’ve left her alone with

Her tho

My thoughts

    For far too long …

The pillowcase she wears is ready

                     To bust

Bursting under words

     The words she’s kept to herself …

It’s time for readiness

                    For freeness

 

There’s a face of brilliance

                Inside me

And she’s rotting me

                    To the bone.

"Hidden" depicts the struggle self identity. The poet is attempting to excavate herself, but I do not feel as though it is complete in the poem. She is trying to expose the "face of brilliance" throughout the poem. She admits that she keeps her silenced out of fear. The final stanza features the beginning of the metamorphosis as the imposter is "rotting." I, for one admire the speaker for facing this fear.
