Alone We Stand

Alone we stand,

Fighting for life on earth,

Laughing in the company of others,

Perfecting the mask of happy,

 

Unsteady in the field of battle,

Existing in a world of pain,

Facing the demons with broken will,

Attempting to stay fixed in earth,

 

Always prepared for another fight,

Shielding self from helping hand,

Casting offered love aside,

Convinced all help from root of evil,

 

Desolate and barren mind,

Weakly fighting against dark love,

Sure of life alone,

Pride crushing heart to ground,

 

Alone we stand,

Wanting to stand aside the other,

To fight the demons, hand in hand,

Clinging too other for steady in field of battle,

 

Hope of love decaying in presence of mind,

Existing in a world of pain,

Shielding self from helping hand,

Unsteady facing death,

 

Demons settling into broken mind,

Taking control of lifeless soul,

Poisonous thoughts slipping through veins,

Ruining attempts of fight for life,

 

Existing in a world of pain,

Alone we stand,

Desolate and barren mind,

Perfecting the mask of happy.

Whatever we do, no matter how much we think we have people who will come to us in our times of distress the fact remains that 'Alone we stand'. But the main thing is to be strong and fight the evil with a brave heart. Amazing read!
