Impossible Perfection

Impossible Perfection

A Poem by WillaDanvers
"

Not my current state of mind, just the words a song inspired. 'The Doctor Said' by Chloe Adams

"

The unconscious of the daily,

Taking less and less,

Slipping into the dangerous routine,

Falling behind the expectations laid,

Remembering the days of past,

The freedom of a child,

Stuck in this dreadful and common,

The thing my smile cannot cover,

A damp pillow on each dawn,

Paired with the broken pieces of her heart,

Just smile and keep walking,

No one will realise you aren’t breathing,

Everyone stuck in a nightmare,

A world revolving around themselves,

Why does no one see that she is no more,

Just a shadow of the self she was,

Prominence of things we shouldn’t be,

A skeleton walking around avoiding,

Refusal to ask for the help no one offers,

Stumbling down this crumbling path of life,

A breath taken, probably the last,

A mouthful swallowed, the first in years,

A tear fallen, an everyday occurrence,

A girl suffering, her mind the killer,

Her body almost withered away,

Fighting a war with no love,

Pleading for the help of a soldier,

Accepting the silence of the world,

The unconscious of the daily,

Slipping into the dangerous routine,

Paired with the broken pieces of her heart,

Failing to be the impossible perfection.

You are welcome

Matthew
This has the sound of someone afflicted with an eating disorder and depression simultaneously. The sense of hopelessness almost reaches out and grabs you. Not a pleasant portrait, but an informative one.

That is what the poem was written to convey, both of what you mentioned. And no it is never pleasant.. read more
