Worthy of Love

Worthy of Love

A Poem by WillaDanvers
"

Sometimes I forget that I'm meant to love myself... and then I remember that I never really knew how to.

"

Falling deeper into the darkness,

Clawing at the stoney well in tears,

Ripping the nails from their beds,

Leaving only my blood in my wake,

Drowning in all this fear,

Wandering around lost for years,

Wishing to have a purpose somewhere,

Knowing she is only here existing,

You ask her to stop asking ‘what if’,

But that’s all she knows how to do,

Living for others, dreaming for others,

She is nothing but a shell created by you,

Wanting a future but so f*****g scared,

Been broken down again and again,

She needs to keep those walls up,

If she wants to make it to the next dawn,

Falling deeper into the darkness,

She screams from the bottom of the well,

Begging for the pain to leave her alone,

Asking God why she was born to hurt,

Left to beg alone since day one,

She asks you why she has to love herself,

Because no one has ever shown her anything,

About herself worthy of loving.

Sometimes you can't understand the way someone's mind works, and you can't ask them to do something just because it makes sense to you.
