Love & Evil

Love & Evil

A Poem by WilliamReegan
"

A poem about the notions of sex.

"
The body lunges for the form,
a javelin that can't be stopped by a swarm,
of bees or bats, or cats and snakes,
the body aches,
Is this what love makes?

A shiver a shudder.

Love letters to be torn,
a baby to be born,
a house to be married,
is to live life to the fullest.
I'm a cullest,
a remover of prophecies comes to my door,
shows me the w***e,
and my love is no more.

I lay panting like a dog,
a different mind has besotted me,
and so lifts the fog,
am i the man i'm suppose to be?

Gazes turn from each other.

Is my lover nothing more than an ideal,
a goal to be strove for,
memories from the films i watched as a child,
if so, let me stand on the scaffolding.
