Life mixed with dreams...

Real Life

 

I find myself in lands of fantasy

in far off places, just you and me

Places outside of regular life

where there is no such thing

as crime or strife

Worlds full of wonder and glee

things to do, places to see

No rich, no poor, no poverty

Just oceans of green, skies of blue

sunshiny days and time with you

We would do well to remember

to enjoy our stay as it will be short

just until the next morn, then back

to the real world of murders,

suicides & dark drizzly days

Tomorrow will bring all new things

love, hope, joy and lots of new

wonderful dreams

We hope...

I love it! Reality can be a downer at times, and our dreams take us into worlds far larger then the real one could ever be. If there is a line that clearly demarks between the two realms, I have yet to find it. If there was such a line, I would think it is as simple as closing one's eyelids and letting our imagination soar.

I loved the formatting here - I think it adds to the punch of the piece. Our dreams are so often our escape from the harshness of reality - hopefully we manage to find that line; holding fast to the dream and remaining in reality. I agree that we need this escape - else we might lose our minds completely!

dreams are made of, where there's no strife or chaos, an environment of solace, and peaceful surrounding,

reading the meaning has an encouraging effect on the mind, to ponder vast oceans and skies- eternal
by their own design, I really enjoyed the emotions sparked as I read, the images are sprite and vibrant,

combined with an insightful understanding of reality and its limited hold on the soul, soft and passionate.
