Sea Haikus

Sea Haikus

A Chapter by DIVYA

The sun’s burning skull

Sinks in a watery grave

Seagulls cry a dirge

Frozen blue and black

Tears rest in a timeless crypt

Ocean in an eye

Softened strands of mist

Spun on Aeolus’s silk loom

Sea a carpet blue

Beautiful dear Divya. Your words dances to perfect vision for the reader. The sea blue can steal our heart and mind. The sea is a dangerous lover. You must be kind to her and respect her. A long time ago. I suicided boarded three seasons of the Winter storms in Monterey. You learn how small we are in the dancing waves. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

You have become such a well developed poet. These three are spot on and capture emotions in such a few words.

Beautiful. I never thought of the sunset like a funeral like in the first stanza before. That was interesting and creative. You also educated me on the greek god Aeolus, thank you for that.

Thank you so much for the kind review, dear Cyprian 🙋‍♀️
I love haikus and contrary to some thinking that they are a doddle, I will vouch that they are not. Much thought needs to go into them in this restrictive form. They actually have to be worked on. Yours are fabulous. Wonderful. Imagery created, oozing sadness and you have alliteration into the bargain. You are a clever clogs DIVYA :)

What a beautiful collection. Each stanza working alone or together to create a beautiful story; I love that they can work separately or together. There is great imagery with these words, instantly transporting me to the sea!

Thank a lot, dear friend. I appreciate your kind review on these haikus, so much....
Divya! these are beautiful .. such sadness in that ancient form .. love your use of the sea in these .. especially the 2nd one ... that your closing haiku gives me an opening for a perhaps soothing resolution to the pain in the first two. "Ocean in an eye" brilliant .. simply brilliant! thanks for sharing

Hi! I am new to reviewing and poetry and I had to google the definition of your form, but having done that, I have to say I love your words here and the beautiful layout on the page. These are so descriptive in their brevity of form and you have captured the scenery wonderfully. Thank you for these and teaching me a new form. 🌹
