Why Can't I?

Why Can't I?

A Poem by Elizabeth Reed

I can't show my tears
You cry everyday
I can't show my fears
You scream them away
I can't show my sadness
You whine and you pout
I can't show my madness
You yell it all out
I have to be happy every second, everyday
You get to explode, your emotions display
I have to pretend that everything's okay
Only to make sure we don't scare our friends away
No one knows how I feel in my mind
But a sadder person would be hard to find
But whatever, it's fine, I'll stay this way forever
To keep my sanity will be an endeavor

I definitely know how bad this feels... We always seem to have an urge to let others know about our feelings, yet we can never seem to put them on display. I like the rhyme scheme to this, and it's well written as well. Nice poem Elizabeth, and kudos to you.

It's good, but it almost seems to be too long. This would be a great shorter poem because it compares and contrasts. Don't let it get too repetitive.
