The Lord is my Strength and Song

The Lord is my Strength and Song

A Poem by Wordless_Prism

As I cry to know, thy love Oh Lord, the icy pain stabs at my heart.

The snow grows colder than the shore, plead to be a saint, set apart.

Black ash, red silks all blend in the night.

I'll kneel, I'll claim the mountain, and show my might.

There was a time I wanted to fly, but he held me down;

Did you think you were keeping me safe? Now I've got no one to blame.

Black tar is peeled from my back, that black cat sits on his throne.

He rolls my tears around like a bad habit as he chews on my bones.

He whispers words into my ears with poisoned fangs.

While he digs deep with claws, my life by a thread hangs.

Now I'm the print in His hands, so lead me to the riverside so I can be washed in His blood.

He leads my soul to His lands. The heat of the world, I'm going to die; that's when he sends His flood.

The Lord is my strength and song, and He is become my salvation:
He is my God, and I will prepare Him a habitation.
However, this great city sits solitary in her Lamentation.

Oh come down with me, down to the waters of Mormon
Come walk with me, step by step to Zion
Sing with me, sing, I will see you in Adam-ondi-Ahman.

Lift thou up the light of thy countenance lay me down in peace, and sleep.
Write mercy and truth upon the tablet of my heart, engraved hands run deep

Little stream running through the river and mountain rills.
I see a figure standing on the hills,
with flaming sword and armor still.

Cold is water through my eyes, but now I awake.
Footsteps in the sand, follow for my sake, now I'm a new man, full of hope.

Eternal and Endless punishment is God’s punishment.
So bring me back to when you saved me on that night's Atonement
Send me back to that peace, what more witness could I have?

The Lord possessed me at the beginning of his way, before His works of old.
I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was told.

You loved me before I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.
Before the mountains or depths were settled, you even loved me before you own martyr.

When you prepared the heavens, I was there and shouted for joy as the stars.
Light and knowledge shines through these broken prison bars

So come down with me, down to the waters of Mormon
Come walk with me, step by step to Zion
Sing with me, sing, I will see you in Adam-ondi-Ahman.
