Autumn Again

Autumn Again

A Poem by

Summer's fallen victim to the winds
And the leaves have rusted over

I'm alone in the cold
Yearning for your warm embrace

When you left a piece of me followed you
And I'm lost without it

Now I'm hollow inside
A shell of my former self

You watch me each day
At a loss for words to say

And I wonder each morning

Why I must wake up without you by my side

Why all of me couldn't follow you

Why it was you instead of me

And the days glide by again
Reality always foggy through my eyes

And so another year passes
My mind still consumed by you

As I watch the sky turn from blue to gray
Your memories slowly fade to nothing

But I hold on to you
Like my life depends on it

And I hold on tighter
Because my life does depend on it

Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've never had this particular experience, but from this poem, I think i know exactly how you feel. I love the power of the emotion, it brings out empathy at it's greatest, in people like me anyway who love love. Anyway, this is wonderful work:)
