Rainy days

Rainy days

A Poem by

I love the sound of rain

Gently falling beyond my window

That early morning mist

The gentle shroud of grey

Clouds hide the sun

A giant blanket of white

Dark horizons promise darker days

Nothing more thrilling than rain

There is nothing that makes me happier

Rain brings life.

It creates a new beginning

After a long assault by the summers sun

It refreshes the scorched earth

When summer is over and done

The rains come

New buds spring from the soil

Dotting the countryside with green

It grows, spreading like wildfire,

Bringing beauty back to the land.

Rain suppresses my moods

It clouds my feelings

Making me pleasantly numb

The stress of life melts away

It pools at my feet

Left to be dealt with another day

I sure do love the rain.

I love the rain, too, and you describe very well what it is that appeals to us. There's nothing better than watching the rain cime down. It not only cleanses the earth, but our souls, too, I think.

now these are curious reasons to love the rain,
leaving me to wonder about Australian fall/winter
that bring with it green and new life, so what about spring? lol
fun poem, I thought. well done
