Cold

I have to write a few songs for music class, and this is one I just finished. It's kind of rough.

There's a chill in the air.

The wind whips through my hair

As I stand alone

Thinking of your smile.

 

I always wanted to be your friend

And I'll be there 'till the end,

But only I know

I want so much more than that.

 

But without you I feel so cold,

Full of loneliness that's so old.

When you're gone, I turn to ice.

I'll keep my secret,

But my heart's the price.

 

Without me, I know you're fine

But you're always on my mind.

I wish you didn't have your girl,

But I won't ruin what you have.

 

Like a glacier in the sun

I melt when we're having fun.

You chase the cold away

With just one laugh.

Pushing away my fear.

The rhythm probably seems off when read like this, but I think I've found my rhythm when singing it :)

I haven't found a way to embed the sound file that doesn't involve wading through mountains of code that make me go cross-eyed, so if anyone can help me there I'd greatly appreciate it.

Love the way this sounds. I like poems with deep meaning, but if they sound stiff and overdone then they have no point. There is meaning here as well, like how when we are seperated from people sometimes knowledge that they don't need us makes it worse.

Cold is an excellent song. the lyrics are fine , the rythm will find its place once you set it to musical chords...... try using the key of G on the piano then play these chords in sequence...A minor..C... G....E....F.. using 4/4 time on the rythm. repeat the chords on the next stanza. and using A minor...C......D....and ...F for the chorus.

This was pretty good. It was an interesting read. Really got the sense of a broken heart from it. I can imagine it as a song. Too bad you can't post a sound file. I'm sure it would sound great.
