Searching for childhood

Searching for childhood

A Poem by

Much have changed since the time I've been
Ways have changed , ways I've heard and seen.

But mind retains the note of early day ,
when the song of life was sung a different way .

With nothing to leave and and nothing to take away,
I tread upon this path , now the sun has set ,

darkness lights the path up ahead.
Silent as the silence of the dead .

Again I seek the beginning of the song .
As times before , I only find the end .

Very well connected my friend.

Those days we are highly reminiscent of just float away and we rarely have enough time to savor the moment when life was simple and sensible:)

I applaud this effort.

We all have that inner child inside us, waiting for us to visit. Enjoyed your poem my friend.

Your work always has me connected to those lost days of youth..when life was simple and easy.. where we had no cares and were allowed to live our daily dream.. The dreams could be as small as smelling a flower and smiling...yet we were content :) Another great write..x

I believe the key to this piece is in the last stanza..sometimes we certainly feel this way....lovely piece!

Hard to maintain hope and positive energy. Would be a magic potion if something would allow us to keep the hope of youth and desire for newness. I like the feel and the purpose of this poem. A very strong ending to a excellent poem.

I loved the line- Darkness lights the path up ahead. This is a nice write.

Although the first line- 'much have changed'- would be better as 'much has changed', I found 'have' there a bit odd.

searching for childhood at 15 is something... but for a first poem its very impressive... shows a lot of talent in you... but i guess the end wont make the beginnings less beautiful...

. ah, that's a phenomenal first poem ... intense and intensely thought provoking ... my existence is very oppressive ... since early childhood ... so, it's tough for me to connect with any earlier image of existence which was better than now ... so, i'm trying to craft a new one ... it's no doubt special ... that first memory of something beautiful ... and though it takes unbelievable courage to craft it ... it's definitely worth it ... i can feel it ... i can feel how liberating it is ...
