Loaded Gun Smile

Loaded Gun Smile

A Poem by

Your smile is like a loaded gun,
Pull the trigger and pull me under.

Eyes locked, euphoria ensuing,
Ensnared comfortably in your arms.

You wrap yourself around me,
Caught up in a fleeting moment;
Please, just let this last.

Words from the TV wash over me without registering
Over the sound of my heartbeat
Accelerating, racing towards yours.

Willing the seconds to slow,
Bending the laws of time,
Just to spend a moment more here;

Safe in your eyes,
Kept close in your arms,
Soaking up that loaded gun smile.

Wow! Great poem! It really flows well. The only thing I noticed was the inconsistent tense that prevails. Otherwise it was great! Keep writing!
