~ I Could Hear Your Liquid Melody

If you listen you can hear, another half... in words, music, love, and distance.

~ I Could Hear Your Liquid Melody

The notes of your violin,

Cried, like painful, truth

Yet hidden in the strength

Of this perfect male sensuality

Only you could move me, on a record,

Like a marionette, of love, making me

A dancing doll for a moment, forgotten by

All time due, rush…

Melancholic pleasure-

Soaking into the deep

Black hole, of being lost there,

Together, but powerful together alone;

On distance, I dance with you,

So close inside of my heart

We breathe the music of passion

Like we play and sing as one

With every gasp you took;

Whilst playing your wooden child;

I fell in love, and deeply in love with you,

With your music, before we ever met

Your hair beautifully dark as the night,

Your eyes, could draw a landscape by their own;

A sea of loneliness, wherein I could drown -

Your hands, as soft as silk,

Playing so gracefully in distance for me,

A medley of tears, for me to catch,

I would save them like little raindrops,

In this glass I’m holding,

I will keep them forever safely,

Next to the shell of joy,

So I can hear, but also watch,

Your  Liquid Melody…

      Mixed with your heart strings

The music, defying distance. Tears and laughter, coaxed like a timid mouse by the soothing strings, the melody of moods penned by a musical heart. Truth in vibrations: spoken, sung, screamed. An orchestra of life drawing two souls into a dancing duet, the peaks, the lulls, the climactic crescendo: love in stereo.
Your poetry resonates so evocatively with me, Elisa. Love this :) xxxx

...this has been a pet term of mine since days of Yore...when I play...lead on any string-I write in liquid...I think of a rolling ball of Mercury...how it moves around...free.....this is how I describe my favourite artists...be it music, paint, Pen, Dance ....Ones whom move with the flowing....weaving in and out of the structure....molding the base to THEIR whim and will----(MANY do not do this)....such an awesome capture Elise ---Liquid Write indeed!!!

Thank you so much Shaunna... :)
Perfect poetic piece... I always feel pleasure to read your poems, since first time I started to use this site, as i was not so interested to read anything before that. :) here you come completely inside the soul and love of music, as if the string and melody stretches like hands and fingers, it`s so soothing for me!
lovely...

Rich as the country, deep as the music and as layered a love poem as I've read.

First off, I love the gramophone pic, you had me right there ;) It's amazing how many different emotions a violin can evoke...I can't think of another instrument that is so emotionally diverse in terms of effect..."playing your wooden child"...I love that line to death, and the way you blend music and sensuality...they really are a match made in heaven aren't they? Of course it takes a great writer to come up with unique ways to convey that partnership, and you have certainly done that here...one of my favourite pieces by you without question :) xo

Thank you jacob for traveling with me on this one ;) great to have your words by!
*sigh* This brought back feelings I have felt in the past, my friend; feelings of loss and love and the bitter ending to what never really had a full beginning to start with. I feel as though we are all connected through space and time, and destined to intersect at given points in our life--I take this outlook on each meeting of my life, whether friends or relationships. I loved the bit about "knowing" someone and their music before you actually met, because I feel this is possible. Another dreamy piece...bittersweet symphony for sure.

The allusions to music are wonderful. Melancholic is in the poem so it's taken :), but it also has a kind of light feel to it I think. Dynamic. The 2 final lines make up a superb ending.

The love and passion you have painted is truly moving. A love this deep can make your heart cry, as if so overjoyed just to be near him...the source of burning light in which this loving soul emits.
