~ The Blurred Painter

You painted me on your cotton canvas

The night with no limits left,

The day not yet in sight at all

But my heart beat born, an Ecoline gal

No light could ever bring me,

So much closer to this inner you,

For a moment, I lived on there for real

And you never had the clue!

Until you made me sad, and

Disappointed drained me in a different color,

There were no eyes who’d smiled,

But thunder storms became bolder.

You created me, and punished me

For I once was just so happy;

Your paintbrush, loved so many colors,

But your heart was too heavy

To provide, and too heavy to love.

I too often find myself "mud mixing" because of my lack of skill and patience. I love all the colours and try to hard to put them all on the canvas at once, knowing full well what happens when you mix too many colours. Absolutely brilliant painting on canvas and on the net as you have done here in words.

a very thought provoking poem Elisa...emotionally filled with sadness from the painted views of a relationship...to many points to touch upon, but if one delves into your thoughts within poem one can find so much depth ...nice work...exceptional....

~ wow, I feel this deep within my core... sometimes i asked myself is my paintbrush too heavy for a single stroke, because i can't seems to do anything right.... but i do it anyways coz i know in time the heaviness will ease, and bring more colors to life itself! Brilliant work big sis!

I freaking love that image. It fits this poem so well; you can read all the emotions in the poem in her eyes.

"Heart too heavy to love"--very nice.

This is the perfect love story with all its flaws.. the canvas and the artist, every color under the sun in the artists kit yet what does the artist provide to this committed relationship. Make it pretty make it last, until the mind wants something other than the heart. All the colors changed to a different hue.. Not even a painting lasts forever this is true.

Are you kidding? This is so haunting. I swear it is as if you were right inside my head. I have a poem titled "All the Pretty Horses." It talks about captured freedom, and meddling with the wild and beautiful. I love the nature imagery in this one. It strikes me so harshly, yet it satisfies me knowing that beauty should always be left intact to thrive. I love this one. I am so happy I came by to read it. -Nido

I feel an intense love gone sideways here.....how we feel that our love has created us, allowed us to be reborn in a new light. How much like a carefully crafted piece of art do we feel like when first loved??? So much goes into those first breaths of a relationship.....and then? That which we've created fades...often drastically and in a one-sided fashion. How could beautiful art be created and then thrown away....painted over?

Great write.

Lovely EL.
I can tell you do have a passion for art. I could almost see you posing for a portrait.
Relationships leave us with all kinds of "art" hanging on the walls of our heart and our very souls dried into the fabric of these paintings.
Did I mention this write is lovely? Ha.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful thought.

For me here connection art - artist is so important...Some people like to be "in love" with their art, painting represents the real essence of human - as portrait or the photo of face...This connection influences both sides, as far as artist may think he 'possess" the object/ subject he painted, but actually he possess only his view to it and his imagination, his eyes see it in another way...That why he is blurred..Reality is something not so easy to capture and understand, but you need many views and images to form the puzzle...Your great poem made me speak my thoughts! Love it, and your reflection.

This poem starts out with a great flourish between creator and masterpiece. It speaks deeply of each stroke and every color. Then it shows us how a rift can form between both, how the creator can neglect to elevate his masterpiece to the highest level. A very colorful write here.
