Tale as Old as Time

Tale as Old as Time

A Poem by Alexzandera

Before me, you stood

a modern twist on a classic fairytale

Meeting my gaze, you found it

Your damsel in distress

caught between pages of literary insignificance

Trapped reading between the lines

In need of saving from her own interpretation

A beauty you present

with a library full of lies

Pages to cradle me

and lull me into blissful slumber

A kiss to awaken me

to my Prince Charming turned beast

A hidden dragon beneath the magnificent castle

A wolf, in grandmother’s clothing

Back then the Woodcutter killed the wolf and saved the tale... today - well, maybe Red has her Glock in the basket - at least if the gun control peeps allow it. Attitudes swing to a pendulum - back and forth. Times necessitated actions until they weren't as necessary or chosen.

Your anger is righteous... and appropriate. At least you CAN exercise your anger here... in most countries and even in multiple religions you can't ...and THAT is under pain of torture and/or death - quite for real.
