That Person

Do you know that feeling of being the only leaf on the tree?

The feeling of being trapped, yet there is nobody stopping you

That desire of fitting in with the rest of the crowd

That guilt tugging at the core of your brain even though you did nothing wrong

Those screaming voices screeching at your skull

"You aren't good enough!"

The screeching never stops, leaving imprints into your mind

But what if it did

What if it all stopped

What if there was a person who came into your life

A person who made your heart fly

A person who opened your eyes

Just one person

A person who showed you the world

Brought all those nasty voices down

Squashed those hated thoughts crawling in your mind

A person who bloomed the most beautiful flowers

Find that person

Your poem really resonates with me, it's kind of hard to admit it too.
I have had these problems before, and although I have not found the person who will make ridiculously happy and giddy, I try to live on while looking at the positive side of life. I might have just found my special person too, but I may not know it.

I relate deeply to this poem... So please keep writing. :)

I love the change in tone. The imagery is excellent and I especially likeduring the first line "do you know that feeling of being the only leaf on the tree" - that is very powerful. You are an excellent poet and I hope you have got the confidence to carry on.
