Take a Chance

Take a Chance

A Story by Writingfox

When God closes a door He always opens a window-

-Some childrens movie from my childhood.

My best friend. He knows everything about me. My darkest secrets, my most ominous fears. My wildest dreams. He knows more about me than anyone else ever will. Not everything, no one could know that and I wouldn't want that either. But he is the one person God has placed in my life that knows me this well. I love him. Plain and simple. He entrusts me with his innermost self. And I have put my heart in his hands. We've helped each other through girl problems, boy problems, family problems. Always ready to listen, to give advice when possible, and to try when impossible. A wise woman I know once told me if you fall in love with your best friend 'tis a precious and rare thing. This is true. It's also terrifying. What if it doesn't work? What if, what if, what if. Well what if I don't? I choose him and he chooses me. We don't know what will happen, we live this love one day at a time. Leaning on our LORD and one another. We take this chance. If you ever fall in love with your best friend... don't be afraid, you will be. But don't let it hold you back. Don't be afraid of Love. It is a gift. Have faith. Accept it like a rose, thorns and all.

Wow, a really beautiful and thought provoking piece. :) I really love your last sentence "Accept it like a rose, thorns and all." I think that this not only applies to love, but to life as a whole. There will always be thorns, but it is the way we choose to look at things that really makes life wonderful.

Amazing job! May you have all the best with this relationship. :)

Great story. I don't think this is true for everyone but based on this writing I'd say you've found your fella. Good for you both.
