Crushing

Crushing

A Poem by Wynter Ignatius

He realized
Like all the rest
The attention garnered
Outside his walls
A simple crush
Brought things to light

Thankful for
A sharp proverbial slap
Kick into place
Lost in emotion
A distant crush
Prompted far better choices

Better understanding
Found under the dust
Ragged heart beats
Care now given
A friendly crush
Revealed what he missed

Less silence
More time spent together
All she wants
Under same roof
Just another crush
Turned their world around
