A Memory Best Forgotten

A Memory Best Forgotten

A Poem by Tori
"

When you truly love someone, you've got to leave them with someone you trust.

"
What if I wanted to run,
to leave it all behind.
What if this world wasn't right,
and everything was intertwined.
Escape is so close to me,
its just a touch away.
I can pull the trigger and fly,
but what will she do that day?
I can release myself from this hell,
but I'm the wall between her's,
the things that make her melt,
to me are simple words.
Every single loving phrase,
is only the voices inside my head,
Perhaps I'm better off a memory,
the kind it's best to forget.

She's all I ever wanted from this world,
I'll give you my breath if you'll save the girl,
Give her the choice that I never had,
just take her away and don't let her look back,
Make sure what she wants is just what she gets,
I'll remain a memory, one she can forget.

I have to get away from here,
but what will become of her?
I place my heart into your hands,
I assign you her new protector.
Keep her safe and hold her close,
don't let her fall for harm,
No matter what she says to you,
keep her locked within your arms.
Do not let her drift away,
Be the me that I couldn't be.
giver her a better life,
Give her what was beyond my reach.

She's all I ever wanted from this world,
I'll give you my breath if you'll save the girl,
Give her the choice that I never had,
just take her away and don't let her look back,
Make sure what she wants is just what she gets,
I'll remain a memory, one she can forget.

Tonight she'll lay beside me,
lay her head down on my shoulder,
If i'm going to go it has to be this night,
I don't think I could get less boulder.
The more I watch her gently sleep,
the more I wish to stay.
the way her perfect body sighs,
just takes by breath away.
But once the morning comes,
the moment she leaves my side,
it will all come rushing back,
and the pain will spread inside.
So I'll let her close her eyes,
and loose herself in her dreams,
but when the morning sun shines in,
it cannot hide her screams.

She's all I ever wanted from this world,
I gave you my breath and you have saved the girl,
You gave her the choice that I never had,
You took her away and didn't let her look back,
You made sure what she wanted is just what she got,
So now I'll remain a memory, the one she's long forgot.

Im sure you know the meaning, but I'll explain anyway....This dude wants to kill himself but he loves his girlfriend so much he's afraid of leaving her. So, he asks his best friend, who knows about the suicide, to take care of her and give her a better life, to make her happy until she completley forgets him(the suicidal guy)

This is real good! Hate to burst your bubble but just one mistake... Stanza five, third line you forgot to capitalize the i in I'm. Just to let you know. Other than that genius!
