A Chapter by Austin Wade Runyon

The Serenity and Tranquility of Breathable Air in an Atmosphere vs the Tyranny and Hatred in Dark Empty Space
by Sundrowner (Austin Runyon)

In the beginning there was darkness
Which birthed a universe
Which birthed a sun whose light was reflected in the stars
Stars which became cacooned in atmospheres
And became cradles for life blossoming in the light
Light and life were meant to transform the darkness to light and the unalive into life
Life and light serving the purpose of destroying the darkness and unalive
And sound and which is destructive to silence
We became the light permeating darkness
And that darkness has never stopped hating us
For the purposes the hierarchy of nature forced upon us
Simply by allowing us to exist
Existence is violence for space is finite
A war of cosmic attrition
Violence that exists simply because there is violence
Could you blame the darkness?
Nature is both of our enemies but we will never conquer that
For our very existence is war with each other

For some reason I was reminded of the opening of The Gospel According to St. John. A little less hopeful. though.
