Amnesia

Amnesia

A Poem by FoundInThought
"

I was trying something new and this is what came of it. It's difficult to write from someone else's perspective or just from an imagined situation. This is one of my few attempts at that.

"
Tires screeching, someone screaming
Horns blaring, lights flashing
An explosion of sound
Darkness
Endless velvet, dreamless depths
Silent suffocation, gasping for breath
Drowning in a nondescript hell
Light
Almost awake, barely alive
Painful ringing, echoing voices
Searching for recollection
Void
Memories gone, mild panic
Bandaged head, blinding pain
Voices outside the door
Contact
Relieved doctors, crying woman
Immediate confusion, forgotten names
This brave new world
Displaced
Encircling arms, tender tears
Questions asked, silence impending
Her eyes wide in shock
Amnesia
