Grey House

Grey House

A Poem by XuuL
"

. . .

"

Grey house, cracked walls,

torn roof, open doors.

Broken windows, broken floors,

he goes inside and then explores.

Rusty oven, dusty tables,

molded ceiling and hanging cables.

Rotten smell is in the air,

rats and maggots are also there.

Empty closets, tilted stairs,

empty drawers, crooked chairs.

A shattered frame in his hand.

The pain too great for him to stand.

Ah, I wrote something similar a while ago. Without saying it, you've suggested through your words the unpleasant visit of someone seeing their old home in shambles. What once was a place of shelter and love has degraded into an abandoned old wreck. What could be sadder than finding a picture you remember in that condition?

Nice writing, Xuul.
