A Poem by Adora.xo

A sleepy poem.

Chasing each other

In short circles in my head,

Planting seeds of random thought,

Begging me to go to bed.

The large white walls

Seem so very funny,

And tonight the clouded skies

Seem bright and so sunny.

Eyes watering from deep yawns

Calling out for dreams,

Everything’s written clearly

In an alien language it seems.

The lights are too bright

But amusing to see,

As you fight with the fog

Of noisy honey-bees.

Chasing one another in circles

While planting seed of thought so deep

Into my weary, tired mind,

Sending me to my dreamless sleep.

I love the imagery and the last stanza.

I loved this! You've got some very strong use of juxtaposition in your imagery here; I think it mirrors how sleep and dreams are a sort of doorway from one type of thought process to another. I think you have a pretty pleasing flow to the poem as well; your rhyme scheme really helps it move along.

nothing like writing about sleep while being sleepy. I hate going to bed and I fight it as there is always something else to do. This one was a fun read, made me smile nice job.
