Woken up, puffed eyes

Found comfort on a damp pillow 

Inhales... a familiar smell of rain

Calm down, be at peace 

Soothing beats 

Shortness of breath

Tugs lost, failure and grief 

Weakens back to sleep.

Rewinding to the last hour of goodbye.

To each track end, ends to forgive 

Like any other dreams, 

Will I forget.

Your poem is a great word tapestry of how it can be when we are vowing ourselves off some bad situation that we can't stop thinking about. We wake up in the morning & FINALLY the obsession isn't the first thing on the brain. But little by little, we creep back to it again as the day unfolds. Trying to shake it off.
