A Witch Solitary

A poem for the modern witch )O(

There's a shadow cast

upon those gauzy curtains

of hair swinging in rhythm

with those feminine hips

And there's a sound that floats out

like a hum, like a chant

A laughter that cuts

into the night

The lady dances around her cauldron

adding ingredients one by one

overcome with her own ecstacy

wearing nothing but a tattered gown

A cat curls up on the windowsill

clearly unimpressed

for every full moon she dances

and praises the Goddess

What a vivid image ! The amount of details, the way they literally strike as a crystal clear image in the reader’s mind, evoking also senses other than sight (touch, hearing) is amazing ! A very good poem indeed ! :) Loved it !
