Pleasure and Pain

Pleasure and Pain

A Poem by Alex Boyd
"

It's about a this young lady who in love with her boyfriend but it's hard for her to show it simply because she's been through a terrible event in her life...

"
What to say when there's no words left???? How can one save the world when the world won't save herself???? Falling in love with lovely nightmares; though our passion pleases the grim reaper still the smell of death lingers, in the air.... Promises he didn't keep but I always kept.... Still she blames me for their long time love affair... In her eyes I can see the lies that she tells but the truth leaves a distastefulness that I can not reveal.... She's been hurt before, theia impact, two rocks collide and she took the worst of it...

A gloomy figure that stood stripping her of her innocence's
Feeling guilty in her defense, a slave to her own cave that once was pink
but now it bleeds...
Just like her mother she's a woman to be, young and seductive, outrageously attractive...
Even the pastor was after her glowing star, you could see it shinning from afar....
Trap from her own scars, pigmentation of grays fulfills her color scheme
Never did she once think that she would find her way back to love again...
Longing for my type of love to come and preserve her, to fight off the figure's disgust, still his memories welcomes in his tentative thrust.... one thrust, two thrust, three thrust, four, five thrust, six thrust, seven thrust, more...

Enjoying Sunday's rain, drinking to sustain, hoping to obtain
Her affections, she neglects me, not trying to blame me
But she can not tell the difference, though it doesn't feel the same
Still she's slain, a faceless skull in search of her identity
Oh what sadness it brings, the true meaning of pleasure & pain....

how does one date in the 21st century when so many women have been damaged beyond repair?
Let me take a second and speak for Black women which I know a bit about. There's a good chance
that they will mother a child before they are married or in love. Then they will find a man who
don't really like small children but loves the rhythm of their hips. And before you know it, they
have two children by two different fathers. But Dana your making crass generalizations. Sure am.
But it is the basis of poverty and The seeds of ruined neighborhoods. (East side Detroit, South side
Chicago, North side Miami, South Central La.) I'm generalizing with a box of Kleenex in my hands.

Being young and seductive can be a heavy weight to carry around like a giant symphony when the
obbligato of pain is that single instrument that plays her principle melody. Pleasure and pain
are never the same thing Alex, but they can happen simultaneously and without negotiating with either.

Well written Alex...How's the weather in Marks, Ms..? dana

Such words and phrases its beautiful there is so much behind the words the emotional pain and mental state is just fractured it makes it beautiful. It's just I loved it well done.
