Please yourself.

There's too many people in the world to please/impress.

People have high standards,

You'll find out nowadays,

That people seem to find pleasure in many different ways.

 

I see that in the teen years,

Is when most people will conform.

To the ideas of everyone else,

As if life's a play they must perform.

 

"I see your shoes and dresses,

With that I'm not impressed.

Why must you choose to be different than the rest?"

 

If you choose to be different than who you really are,

You will lose your glimmer,

And become an identical star.

 

And if you're not different,

And if you all look the same,

How will he/she find you,

While you still play this mind game?

 

What if you're overlooked,

By the one you'll love the most?

And of originality,

You can no longer boast?

 

People have high standards,

You'll find out nowadays,

That people seem to find pleasure in many different ways.

(I have recently found out that being different is okay.)

I take it seriously.
I really really like it.
It does explain everyone now a days, everyone thinking everything is about clothes, or accesories. But it's not about that.

People should really just try to be themselves, and it doesn't matter if that mean being different, because everyone is weird and unique in their own way.
That's how God created us.

wonderful job Viki - please yourself; if you don't no one else will - life is a unique creation within us all and our minds wired differently - the media, groups, religions and family's all do their part in shaping us through their messages - it is our deliberate filter that will help us see who we are and who others are....if they are brave enough to shed the layers. insightful.
