3rd Centurion Butterfly

3rd Centurion Butterfly

A Poem by Y.Badr El Din

The life that we choose,

The world that spins around us,

The things that we use,

So magical only for those with opportunity,

From a point to infinity.

Sitting there, on the sand looking up,

I wonder,

I wonder of the beautiful things that are out there

Rose. Tulip.  Butterfly.

Pondering of what will be and moving on in a glare.

As I drink, children play.

As I smile, it shields the pain.

My eyes cannot help but let it show.

Like a butterfly moving on, is what I do,

Smile without a clue.

One day at a beach, so happy,

Next day at a friend’s house, so happy,

And I smile.

Third day we are done, hurting but I smile.

The wound is big but I hide it,

I move on, and on, yet I am still here.

A memory of the past.

I found you beneath that mask,

I would like to help you,

Because your wound is not invisible to me

I feel it, it hurts me to,

I speak my mind in which that is true.

We now share something that you have been carrying for years.

Release your wings 3rd century girl,

Let that butterfly go.

Now your eyes can smile to.
