What If...?

Here I am. Lying in my bed, waiting for the relaxing sensation of sleep to fall over me. "What if you can't sleep?" What if I can't sleep? Then what will I do..? I will ask mom about it in the morning. "What if mom isn't there tomorrow morning?" Wha-? She- she's always there! She wouldn't just leave, would she? No, that's crazy. "What if you're crazy?" What if I.. What if I'M crazy?! "What if this is all just a dream, you're already asleep." What if I'm already asleep? 

"What if you're dead?" "What if nothing happens when you die?" "Does that make you appreciate life more?" "What if there isn't real life? What if this is all just one big dream dreamed by a single person, and you don't even exist? Nobody knows, nobody cares. Am I right? What if your parents don't really love you? What if the couple sleeping in the hall two doors down from you aren't your real parents? What if-!" You know something??? WHAT IF!! I just closed my eyes, stopped listening to your yammering for five minutes and went to sleep? Anything can happen, everything is possible. But I'm tired and want to go to sleep. So I will help you take care of this tomorrow.
