A Poem by Zakari Schmidt
"

In the mirror you are here

"
Idea struggled with the Thought
Moments when one turns in two,
does it feel like tearing off
or creating something new?
In the mirror you are here
distance to the other side
is not measured in your hands
but reflected in your eyes

Idea struggled with the Thought
how do you divide a dream
while the world raises its guard
Mother Earth falls asleep
and I would stand in front
until her shield came down.
The armor that we wore
doesn't get used much now

But of course you would settle
for leather instead of metal,
feathers instead of a cape,
image instead of a shape
because
you knew I'd stand in front
until your shield came down
Memories are only
ideas, thought about

this one lost a little bit towards the end for me.. love the first two stanzas.. the repetition was well done there.. the subtle rhymes pleasant and flow nice.. it felt dreamy, misty thoughts and emotion... the last two lines in first two stanzas are my favorite.. in my opinion those lines are pretty awesome.. so overall well done.. just felt a little "let down" with the way it ended.. I will say, it is nice to see you and tickled that you have added more writing.. :)

My only reply is your welcome
This doesn't happen to be about writers block does it? Because if it is it fits perfectly! I'll sit in this chair all day until I think of what to write!
Also I can see it as trying to deal with a very difficult person that won't let you in. But you love them so you will always wait for them to open up.
Loved it!!!
