Goonies Never Say Die

Goonies Never Say Die

A Poem by Zackery Alan Daley

Off the top, enjoy, review, comment, share the love :)

Ascertain attainability! Bellowed the boy.
Build them up, swelling joys.
Annoyed with the smiled eyes.
Keep it real, keep a level.
Build the bass, turn up the treble.
victim of the static rhythm.

Midway upon life's journey,
I went astray,
Or so they say...

Imperfection, discord in the music of the void.
The crank, a wind, and marching of the soldiers.
Deliver to me the head of the world,
The heart of the sun, and the belly of the moon.

Try to prepare for imminent action.
Heroin heart, I'm finished. please start.
Stutter step, butterfly, press reset
Sinking eyes, but I've seen greener, oh I've seen greener.

Go away with the snake, see if I care
Shed light, warm my bones, I feel so...I dunno.

Your words are a fierce dance of dark and light, and I always loved the goonies, so the title pulled me in. What a strong voice to carry across the miles.

Quite enjoyable actually, I liked the musical jargon. 'Build the bass, turn up the treble.
Victim of the static rhythm.' and 'Imperfection, discord in the music of the void.' were great lines.
