The 99 Afters

The 99 Afters

A Poem by Zackery Alan Daley
"

Vague and confused teenagers right?

"
I swore by the bible and christened this crown.
I will swear my revenge, and get back at this town.
Sorry you won't be there you gave up,
And the 99 afters were not the right stuff.
You joined the robots that wear makeup...

I lost my page in a book last week,
And I still can't find that page...
So I'll play these silly games,
Think of all the "ones",
And how they've added up.
I'm still the same as yesterday.
My personality won't change for you.
So my fair lady...I bid thee adieu.

And I still can't find that f*****g page.

the enigmatic quality of the last line is a nice mysterious touch that opens up a whole other line of interpretation outside of the apparent take on the sharp expression of individuality amidst the mass mind~

very thoughtful. I like your take on conformity and being yourself. Nicely done.
