Forest Man

Forest Man

A Poem by aaaa
"

A man that lives in the forest.

"

A man walks through the forest so green

Seeing sights few men have ever seen

Walking over paths, so old

walking over paths untold

He grows old, his beard grows gray

He continues to walk anyway

He walks from the edge of the world, and back

Few men can ever say that

He has seen mountains that tear the sky

He has walked where the birds fly high

He has climbed the cave with beasts of evil

No one knows when he will

Stop walking over his forest path

He walks to escape the city's wrath

The city who kill the land with its spires

It kills the world, it paves the mires

He will some day die, this we know

With a grave unmarked, that will never show

City's will come and build the land

Industry will come and stretch its hand

No one will remember this man so great

He who walk paths and twisted fate

He was the only one who lived without a prison

He alone knew true wisdom

Say goodbye to this man of the wild

Say goodbye to the man who filled

The shoes of walkers that came before

Say goodbye to the man who did so much more

Memory shall fade into the night

His story will leave without a fight

No one will remember this wanderer

His true nature we can only ponder

When I was young, I spent much time walking in forests, exploring their many mysteries, but now, like the forest man whose footprints are cold, so too are mine. How I long to go back, though. Your main point, as I see it, is to lament both a decline in nature and the willingness of man to love, respect and preserve it. No better proof of that than what we see going on in the gulf of Mexico right now.

Really enjoyed reading this.

You have an ease about your writing and the flow was very smooth and consistent. I do think though that there were times where you just used fillers to fit the rhyme scheme. (Like in the 2nd stanza, 2nd and 4th lines).
And one particular line: "Who who walk paths and twisted fate" seemed to make me fumble when I tried to read it. I think it would sound better if it was a tad reworded, maybe to something like, 'Who walks a path of a twisted fate'.
Overall,
A Good Job

It kind of reminds me how there are hobo's out there, and we dont know their background. They dont have any family. No friends, just themselves, yet most of them keep carrying on anyways, and live life and try their hardest to get by, to find food, and shelter when a storm is near.. It's an eye opener, basically stating that everyone is a person. And some of them we may never understand, because they are to wise for our own minds to handle, no matter who they are, they deserve recognition too. Anyways that's what i got from it. It was really good.
