Field of Joy

Field of Joy

A Poem by Cats Eye

As I wandered through the woods

One luminous day

I pondered upon a field

As I entered

The wildlife began to run away

All except for one doe

Our eyes met for a split second

Before she returned to her grazing

I soon left to leave her in peace

I sense this is based on a real event. Plainly, the Doe and you made a connection. She knew your heart. I enjoyed this read very much.

Though your poem is short, it says a lot. There was a moment when no words were necessary and you suggest that impression through your simple words. Well done.

Animal know when they are in danger. The doe knew she was safe. I like the poem. Took me on a field trip in your words to a forest and the beauty of nature. A outstanding poem.
