A true nurse.

A true nurse.

A Poem by Faye

If you find one of these your in good fortune.

A true nurse is...
Someone who will give you that smile of reassurance
no matter what condition you have
"No need to worry, we'll take care of it"
A true nurse is...
Someone who can put together clues like a detective
linking the evidence together
"A spiked temperature, possible infection"
A true nurse is...
Someone that doesn't see the world as quite so glum
a view that makes you laugh
"Trust me, I lost my mind years ago"
A true nurse is...
Someone with that special gentle touch
swiftly taking the cannula out
"There we go, all done"
A true nurse...
Takes responsibility for many things
including for other people
"I wasn't on duty at the time but I will sort this out"
A true nurse...
Values you and gives you their time
above any paperwork
"Don't worry, the paperwork will wait"
A true nurse...
difficult to be trained into
hard to find
You are fortunate to be under their care.

If only all nurses were as you describe here, it would almost be a pleasure to be hospitalised! Good luck with your training, and your future! ~ Robert.
