To discourage whomsoever it may concern from suicidal attempts.

When life
seems all hopeless
still don't you loose
all scope of hope
for there's
this thing
dangling
in the air,
Reach out
for God's sturdy rope.

For how
sure can
you be
that
death will
take you
to a better fate
What if
you are
plunged
into a
plight
much
worse where there's no turning
back at any rate!

In times of trials and tribulations invoke Him
Or your chances of contentment remain slim

You too haven't been infallible and above all blame,
that you wish for a perfect rosy life
The excuses for suicide are usually so lame,
Better enjoy your share even so in strife.

Donot
friend, plan to commit this act
just to invoke another's pity and regret.
The pity and regret will come and go
Besides it soothes no decomposed,
and a large slice of your life
May lie in waste, your soul disposed

Why rush for thy grave,
It may further gloom.
Suicide's ain't a way out
fellow human friend.
Pray a godless way ,not send
you unto this doom.
You haven't right to bring
any life to its end.

And it's probable that all
those years
that you now wish to recklessly
discard in dust
have something bright ahead,
got to be a ray of
hope
Extinguish it not if in God
you trust!

Many say Hemmingway committed suicide. Others believe he was cleaning his gun when it accidentally discharged. I've always believed that taking your own life requires a great deal of strength, for look at what the consequences would be to those left behind. But in the synopsis of taking your own life, there is no rational to explain it all away. Nothing can fix us when we feel broken, empty or alone. Perhaps death is the sweet release we seek. Thank you for your perspective.

Oh dear dear if a teenager is suicidal on a break up, if its your teenager, would u just let him do it saying death is sweet release???
Yes , prayers can fix us as they repaired my suicidal teen, as prayers helped another lady too. Therapy may help too.

Clearly there are too many people who fail to understand that their views and values are not absolute or even universal...

It might seem noble to outsiders, but in truth it's just rooted in the fear of people who make these decisions and nobody knowing until it's too late.

Realizing that they never truly knew the person who killed himself/herself... And unable to cope with it, that something which they fail to understand or control...

That's all there is to it, fear. Repeated attempts to force the people in question to see things your way... To a person like that, this piece is like listening to a spoiled kid yelling "it's my way or the highway"
Instead of understanding what you are actually talking about and what it is you are asking of them.

No, I'm not protecting or 'justifying' internet trolls ranting about suicide. In truth those are just immature brats, and the likelihood of them actually doing it is 0.
If they were to do it, the world wouldn't lose anything worth crying over, but we are not so fortunate.

The people I referred to before the trolls, they never tell anyone, that is part of the reason why their success rate is high. Also, they never do it on emotional impulse, or just because they have lost a job...
There's always calm reasoning that leads to the goal.

Um my views and values are not absolute as in forced views but they can be universally applied if one wants.
And im not forcing to see my way, this poem is simply a light and gentle reminder to discourage suicide, if thats my way what's wrong with telling people to reconsider life, you seem to come with preconceived notions about us, .
All the suicide cases i have studied are internet case stories, some due to emotional heartbreak.
Im giving them hope and if you are insinuating about me talking of only one world way like religion then i don't see anything wrong in advising people to have recourse to God and connect with Him instead of resorting to a hopeless suicide.
This poem has helped quite some people to abandon suicidal thoughts as I have posted it on several poetry sites.
Our people think the same of you non muslims though, that you want to impose your own world views and ideas upon us bia every media possible.
To everyone their own.
Every poem can have someone's own opinions and values, there is no shoving or forcing down throats.
I'm not even 'forcing' anyone to heed to my poetic advises.

I did try to understand why outsiders would want to meddle with anyone who is resolved to end it all, but I still don't see why people insist on trying to make it look like it's a bad thing.

An individual should have the right to choose death over life for themselves. It's something that should be in the 'human rights' list.

Ah gosh if its your own teenager you certainly would like them to rethink suicide unless you don't love your kids, i happen yo care about humanity at large. Suicide is no good, its a painful unnatural death due to lack of hope.
If i see a person about to jump i would try my best to talk them out of it, and i feel most kind people would try to stop suicide attempts, if you won't then you could be considered a thoughtless person by most people. Esp if its a teenager killing himself for heartbreak, he needs to get over it with help.
I hope you don't argue more on this.

a difficult and complex issue ... the pain and grief we suffer that brings us to a point of thinking about taking our own life ... the pain and suffering wrought on those who love us is immeasurable ... there is no easy answer .. depression is an overwhelming adversary and once in its grip .. no other way out can be seen .. i think the strength of your poem is that it calls us all to reach out to God .. it is Hope itself and turning away from it does kind of seal our fates ... even for those of us that don't reach such a point of despair as suicide ... we all encounter fear, confusion. pain and doubts ...
something to consider in writing ... especially with this very personal subject ... is using second person "you" always runs the risk of coming across as judgmental and/or preachy ..those suffering from such strong and negative feelings and dark thoughts most always have guilt built into the whole picture .. just a thought ... try writing this in first person .. create a character who is going through all of it ... or third person and speak as a parent who is trying to help ... just a thought .... i think you have written about a very important social issue that is always personal to someone .. there is a need for having it out in the open ... thank you for bringing to the Cafe' ... :)

Not my newest but it was great to know your thoughts on this. I'm super glad you realise that God is the only hope for troubled pained mortals. And yeah I think I need to change it to we so it doesn't look too impersonal detached admonishing as it now seems as seen by others eyes. It was meant in the tone of a motherly rebuke, my mom scolds me in far worse harsher way though.

yes, we never know what is after this life...and it may or may not be better.
Life's too precious to give it up...but one of the worst things about suicide is what it does to those left behind...

Personally I am also a strong believer that suicide is the worst possible solutions. There will be times, even for myself,everyday life seems filled with uncertainty and breathing is a hassle. Dying isn't as easy.A person who have the will to die should have enough courage to live. There is always a friendly hand out there. It is usually our pride that blinded us.

No, those who commit suicide don't, at all, know they're going to a better place. Often, they are just looking for relief of psychic pain--which can be achieved in much less drastic ways.
Makes far more sense to stick with this reality; one which we somewhat know our way around.

That's true, suicide is not the solution. We know that but sometimes we just can't help it especially if we are all drained up. Each and every one wof us finds and tries to escape the bitterness of reality..
