Silent Scream

Silent Scream

A Poem by E.A. Hamilton
"

When the world around you doesn't understand...

"

Get on with it.

Get over your self.

Stop crying and MOVE.

They all say the same things

Never understanding,

While your sitting there

Screaming silently,

Your brain tearing its self apart.

Just breathe.

Deep breathes.

Calm down.

They try and help but don’t know how,

While your sitting there

Screaming silently,

Your brain tearing its self apart.

Look at that freak.

What is wrong with them?

They’re not NORMAL.

They stand around and look at you

Talking in hushed voices thinking you can’t hear

Because you’re sitting there

Screaming silently,

Your brain tearing its self apart.

Doctors say there’s something wrong.

Just take more medication.

If it doesn’t work try this one and start again.

Do they really know what’s going on?

While your sitting there

Screaming silently,

Your brain tearing its self apart.

Come here.

Sit down.

Cry it out with me.

They understand because we’re all the same.

Our minds exploding day after day.

We hold it in and never let it out.

We scream and shout never making a sound.

Our brain tearing its self apart.
