Insidious You

Insidious You

A Poem by Michael William Fowler
"

oh wow description, i can barely remember it was so long ago i can't remember the thought which provoked this. I guess for myself it speaks about how a person can change you, even if it's not your ideal.

"

Insidious,

Speak you poetic poison.

Drenched in you dark domineering decay,

Your words are acidic, eating through me

Leaving only what ‘you’ want.

Charismatic,

Pleasant sounds, you spat into my head

Rattling around and around again

Eating away at me without pain

Believing only what ‘you’ want

Beautiful,

Melodic minuet vibrating though me

A pitch so perfectly high

It hurts and is beautiful all at once.

Influencing my thoughts with your sweet chorus

And I believe what you want me to.
