Blood

A ​jab to the heart is a jab to your brains 

Like a hot knife piercing and popping veins 

The nothingness and nowhereness circles in the blood that has lost its past form. 

The blood shed that has become the oblivious norm. 

The blood shed for a lost seed never again to be born. 

The blood shed of a soul now priced at a penny. 

The blood shed to save you that you exchanged for the ‘henny’. 

The blood shed for the ones we adore. 

The blood shed that you can’t even see anymore 

Because there’s blood in your eyes and all you see is Red. 

Red showers of aggravation and the greed that was bred. 

The produce of your labor is blood stained. A life where blood shed is blood gained. 

All this blood shed but still we fail to realize 

That the fear of death is equivalent to the fear of being alive. 

Floating in a river of blood with no destination just an adventure  

Since we’re moving forward into the past of the future 

As we approach the early stages of purgatory 

Till some day we fall on weak knees to ask the Lord to set us free.

ooooooooh, this poem is powerful and heart-felt. Jabs to the heart can certainly have serious repercussions!
I think you are right about blood having all those qualities. But it is a good job that we can make more blood if we spill too much! I love the line 'we're moving forward into the past of the future'. Let's hope that purgatory, both here on earth and after death, will not last too long! I hope to read more of your poems.
