Neon Tears

She sits alone in the music room

Every note struck

Ringing hollow and broken

For why is she here,

If there is no tune?

 

She dances in the moonlight

Softly

Sharp breathes and spins

Echo round

But why is she here alone?

 

Neon tears rolling down her cheeks

She sits under a tree alone

She doesn’t know why she’s there

Or why no one is around

 

What is the purpose of this girl?

Living solemn life in many ways?

She cannot find her purpose now

But maybe will some day

 

For now she cries neon tears

Waiting to be called

And then the moment

She’s been waiting for

Finally once and for all

 

A man holds out his hand

His hat is as fluffy

As his white cravat

 

Neon tears stain his apron

As she welcomes his embrace

She cooked to live

But lives to cook

For that is her purpose in life
