A Bard's Tale

Enjoyed best while read aloud with a sing-song tone, as a bard sharing his tale to a tavern. Read in front of friends or family if you want to feel like a jovial bard yourself.

Gather ‘round gather ‘round

I usually sing of heroes, or tell of adventure

But today I do say it’s time for a cheek clencher

Gather ‘round, for the sound

Today I share with you a story of Sons

The musical makers of tavern-bourn fun

The hero of man, an everyday fan

Of all things intriguing to every young lad

Gather ‘round, let it mound

You come here today, after hard work

Expecting a refreshing and hearty young smirk

The Hero of song, a hero in stance

The hero that’s here to make all of you dance!

Why is it a bard must tell tales of another

When the tale of a bard is enough to make wonder?

Gather ‘round, let’s get profound!

The hearty young bard travels from town-to-town

Doing his best to inverse a deep frown.

He faces enough danger to make a knight quiver

And barely gets by scraping past each new river.

The deep grassy fields and tall craggy mountains

The frightful adventures that show by the thousands,

All of them worth every back-breaking quest

So that he may come, and share his great zest.

Gather ‘round! This is your playground!

Do you want to hear something new?

Maybe something that’ll help get you through?

Within each and everyone there exists a dashing bard!

I know, I know, to even believe so seems rather hard.

But give me a moment, some time to explain

That we all have a bard to help get through the pain.

We all seek adventure, we all have a story

That to all the others is worth some good glory.

Everyone is the hero, the entertainers of their day

That, for what it’s worth, help each other get through the fray!

Gather ‘round gather ‘round, for the courage that’s found

By each and every friend trodding through life’s battleground.
